Before you start the registration process, please make sure you have your school’s Unique Reference Number (URN), as well as the names, Teacher Reference Numbers (TRNs) and personal details such as date of birth and the email addresses of any Early Career Teachers and Mentors you are registering.
There are 3 stages to registering your ECTs and Mentors
Please add your ECTs to the MNSP database
This allows your ECT(s) and Mentors to access all of the training materials for the ECF and keeps them in the loop regarding updates and training.
Please Note: This form will only register your ECT and mentor on the MNSP Framework.
You must also ensure that your school, ECTs and Mentors are also registered with the DfE & Five counties appropriate body.
Please scroll down for guidance and links
Any changes to an ECTs contract, mentor details, or contact details be relayed to dwilson@msnpartnership.com as quickly as possible
Register your Mentors and ECTs with the DfE: https://www.register-early-career-teachers.education.gov.uk/
This must be completed in order for funding to be allocated for your ECT.
Note: you may need to create or update your DfE Account in order to access the registration site.
The Training route is: Use an approved lead provider (provider-led)
The lead provider is: Education Development Trust
Our delivery partner is: Five Counties Teaching School Hub Alliance
Our Appropriate body is: Five Counties Teaching School Hub - South Gloucestershire and Bath and North East Somerset (Mangotsfield Church of England Voluntary Controlled Primary School)
NOTE: The DfE website has been updated for 2026-27 and some of the stages listed below may now look, or be phrased differently.
I will update the guidance as soon as possible in light of these changes.
You can then register your ECTs and Mentors using their Name, TRN, DoB and email address
You must ensure that all ECTs have a linked mentor.
If your ECT is starting their ECT induction in the school year 2026-2027, they should be registered with the DfE as a 2026 starter.
(If your ECT is moving from another school having already started their ECT induction, and you are required to state it, then they should be registered as a 2025 starter)
Full guidance on the registration process can be found here:
https://www.gov.uk/guidance/set-up-and-manage-the-early-career-teacher-entitlement
If any school, ECT or Mentor details are incorrect, and you cannot see how to resolve the problem yourself, you will need to contact the DfE directly by emailing: continuing-professional-development@digital.education.gov.uk
Please include the name, TRN and D.o.B of any ECT you need help with.
This is the registration for the induction process. This will normally be a 2 year process but part time teachers will have a longer induction period even if they have already completed the ECF.
